With Lutherans throughout the world, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America confesses that the crucified and risen Christ is present in, with, and under the bread and wine of Holy Communion. It offers those who receive his body and blood the gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation.
Parents are encouraged to bring their 2nd grade children to First Communion classes. Parents and kids will meet together over 3 classes to learn about what Holy Communion is, taste the bread, wine and grape juice, and create a keepsake to remember this special time.
Holy Trinity also offers a one-time class for older youth who haven’t been instructed in receiving Holy Communion.
